The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, in partnership with Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, will host the annual Raise the Region fundraiser on March 9 from 6-11:59 p.m.
Raise the Region, which started in 2013, is designed to help raise money for local nonprofits.
Collectively, the annual fundraiser received $12.3 million in donations, which were used to benefit local organizations. More than $2 million was donated to 272 nonprofits at the 2021 event.
According to information from FCFP, this program is designed to help kick-start 2022 fundraising efforts for local nonprofits through the generosity of sponsors and community members.
Attendance at the event is available to 501c3 organizations that serve residents of Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Tioga, or Union counties.
For this year’s event, Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships donated $170,000. These funds will be used to stretch every donation made to pre-registered nonprofits.
According to the foundation, there will be additional prizes and monetary incentives that will be awarded to participating nonprofits.
Sponsors of these awards include First Citizens Community Bank, Larson Design Group, Subaru, Toyota Motor Corporation, Pennsylvania Skill by Miele Manufacturing, UPMC, Weis Markets and AutoTrader.
The public is encouraged to visit the Raise the Region website to select participating nonprofits to support.
Donations will be stretched by the Blaise Alexander Group’s matching contribution, according to the foundation.
Donations can also help garner additional support for selected nonprofits by qualifying them for monetary prizes. All donations are tax-deductible and help make the association’s mission possible, according to the foundation.
